Yes or No
On one knee he asks for her hand Vowing that his love would stand The sky turns a crimson red Her rejection he truly dreads
Breath held heart beating faster than ever As the lights dim around them and he waits for an answer People around stop and stare Those who were leaving didn't want to go anywhere
And she replies after what seemed to him eternity Tears flowing down her cheeks, the day she thought she'd never see His proposal, her hand in marriage Her dreams of riding in a grand white carriage
But her answer she would not yield, At least not yet unsure of his real self around her heart still, a shield And as she slowly shakes her head So fragile, his heart breaks
Silence, she knows, guilt she is familiar with The room finds it harder to breathe As he slowly rises up, he slowly nods his head Then without saying a word, he walks away, head somehow still raised
When the darkness finally envelopes the poor girl She sits by her bed and thinks she's lost her world Just as she cries herself to sleep, Its her phone, it gives her a little beep
-------------------------------------------------
Its the boy, the one who loved her so Her heart breaks this time She thinks she could've crossed the line Her inner self only she would've showed
And as the message is displayed on the screen, The boy tells her where he's been Confused as she is about his message He still wants her in his grand white carriage
And with the true determination of a lover Promised he'd wait for that long awaited hour To be the guy to walk her down the aisle Just that he believes she's now in denial
So the ultimate question, Yes or No?
