You, were the very first to make him cry When he saw you, i swear, i saw his heart fly And you appeared before him like an angel in disguise That same night, he thanked God for putting you in his life
Through it all since then he did his best for you When you needed someone and felt alone you knew he'd come through In the train when you were bored he became the fool just for you When people stared he just thought, yes its for her muse
Then time went on and things changed and you just weren't the same Though it did break his heart he kept his silence you no longer called him by name It did hurt so bad that he thought of it till he almost went insane Yet cause you needed him he disregarded, and still sheltered you from the rain
Then you spoke to him no more and he could only watch On those lonely nights drowning his grief and sorrow in a constant flow of scotch Though he sunk lower and you didn't care some part of you wished you did Cause you know that being there for you no matter what is seriously no mean feat
So you reached out and in the tender way that only you could helped him overcome And a long story short, and in the present after all's been said and done He stands beside you at the altar smiling brighter than the sun In his mind's eye his memories of you, playing on re-run
And as you say i do, its when he cries for you again Cause the strong feelings he has for you, there's no use to pretend For the one simple reason and for that reason only His love for you, a Father's love, a love that was meant for you purely.

Comments please =) and yea inspiration was from 2 seperate incidents on the same day. This Tuesday i went for pshysio and i saw this father playing with his daughter and i didn't see the mum around and yea he looked like a total fool but he didn't care at all, all that mattered to him was that his daughter was laughing and giggling away they way a child should and that was enough for him and the cutest part was he even taught her to play scissors, paper, stone (she's like 3 btw) that was really heartwarming to see.
The other was on my way home, i saw this guy that had tattoos covering his entire arm and he looked totally outta place, but on his left there sat this lil girl around the same age as the one previously mentioned and she was clinging on to his arm and literally dangling from it. I could tell he was damn tired cause he looked really haggard and his wife who was sleeping on the girl's left didn't bother she just slept. But throughout the entire train ride, from Orchard to Yishun, he kept her amused and one other thing i noticed was that his clothes were really in bad condition like slightly torn and all yet the clothes his wife and daughter wore were BRAND NEW. Thats a family man right there.
